My hair is weirdly wavy and it has been straight all my life?

My hair used to be really straight, and silky...I'm 14 btw... I got a layered haircut, and ever since my hair is weirdly wavy and just plain messy...the layers curl up on each other, but the back is straight and has no layers...should I just not get layers? It's really hard to handle. Is there any way I can get it straight until it's long enough to get a haircut? I just got a new home with a pool, so I swim a lot. If my friends are over, they'll see my ugly hair. Please tell me any solutions..my side bangs also become wavy ish. Please please please let me know! Also to make my hair grow faster!
